The US Senate just voted 13-84, rejecting a call to withdraw troops from Syria: https://c-span.org/video/?c5096739/senate-rejects-motion-resolution-troop-withdrawal-syria… The US has c. 900 troops in northern Syria, which are illegally occupying its sovereign territory, where the majority of Syria's oil and wheat is produced. The US government admitted that it is doing this to intentionally starve the Syrian government of revenue it needs to rebuild, after a decade of US-fueled war devastated the country.
